Weekly Reading: 19 June 2017 thru 25 June 2017

Weekly Reading: 19 June 2017 thru 25 June 2017

This reading uses the Chrysalis Tarot by Toney Brooks and Holly Sierra.
(Process: I don’t “choose” the cards for these readings, I simply shuffle until I get a “jumper card” – a card that “jumps” out of the deck during the shuffle. I’ve found that this method provides the opportunity for the universe to choose the card(s) without interference from me. If more than 2 cards volunteer, they’re shuffled back into the deck until I get a maximum of 2 for the position I’m drawing for.)

With all Minor Arcana cards this week, the energies are much gentler and much less intense than last week. The middle of the week may be a bit emotional and tricky to navigate, but it’s not anything that can’t be dealt with, and the Ace of Stones as the final card says that we’ll do just fine.

Monday/Tuesday: Three of Stones (Planning)
The chamber beneath the tree of life beckons you to enter and seek not only your own inner wisdom, but the wisdom available to you through connection with the Collective Unconscious (or Universal Consciousness.) The triquetras on the upright stones assure you that you will be safe and protected while you seek additional information to refine your plans. Owls are symbolic of wisdom, discernment, and attention to detail; fire is symbolic of burning away the old to make room for the new (a forest fire can appear very destructive, but it burns away the dead wood, making room for new growth to begin;) while in tarot, cards containing the number three are symbolic of transformation. This combination suggests that the wisdom you find will help you to release/burn away those things that are no longer useful to you and make room for new plans and ideas to grow and transform your life.

Wednesday/Thursday: Six of Mirrors/Three of Mirrors (Memories/Compassion)
With two cards focused one feelings and emotion, the middle of the week could be a bit tricky to navigate. While remembering the past can remind you of the good times you’ve had or the lessons you’ve learned, you don’t want to get stuck there, or use those memories as an excuse not to move forward. The Six of Mirrors also carries ancestral energies, allowing you to access the wisdom and loving support of your ancestors in following through with your plans. The compassion and connection indicated by the Three of Mirrors can provide you with a path forward – compassion for yourself and others, connection to the past and your ancestors, and encouragement that you can succeed. This three is about celebrating and accepting not only the different aspects of yourself, but the differences in others as well.

Friday/Saturday/Sunday: Ace of Stones (Abundance)
This card is full of the promise of new beginnings and fresh possibilities. It’s the perfect culmination of the energies of the previous cards, indicating that with careful planning and the ability to be flexible and adapt those plans as necessary, you will reach the goals you’ve set for yourself.

Note: Last week a friend pointed out that reading the cards as a group that applies to the entire week, with the final card as both a part of the combined energies and a culmination of those energies, adds another layer of insight and more depth of meaning to the reading. Not only do I think she’s right about that, but in thinking about it this week, I’ve realized that if you think about it from the perspective of an astrological aspect it makes even more sense. In astrology, the energy of a planetary aspect (where two planets come into a defined relationship with each other) isn’t sudden, happening only when those planets are exactly positioned in that aspect and ending as soon as they begin moving away from each other. The energies begin building as the planets approach the aspect positions, reach their highest power when the aspect is exact, and then slowly dissipate as the planets move further away from that position. Seen from that perspective, not only would each card of the weekly reading have an influence throughout the week, but the energies of the first card would actually begin to be felt in the last couple of days of the previous week, and the energy of the final card would influence the beginning of the following week as well.
